On his own

Owen has suddenly decided that he is going to be brave enough to stand on his own. Tonight as we were setting the tent up to play with in our living room Chris and I watched him continually let go to clap, play with toys or just to simply watch. He was able to stand for probably close to 20 or 25 seconds. He is so darn proud of himself. Now I need to catch it on camera!!!

Clapping

Maya has really enjoyed helping Owen learn new things. She has done all sorts of things from helping me look for new teeth to teaching Owen to clap. It was the cutest thing! She was telling him to clap and sure enough he followed along. I had been trying for the past couple weeks to get him to open his hands and try but, of course, he wouldn't. Tonight he got so excited watching Maya that he tried and then tried again and he did it. Maya and I cheered and he was thrilled and clapped more! I told Maya she taught him to clap and she got even more excited. She was thrilled and kept tell me all day that she was Owen's teacher. I love watching this bond develop between the two of them. It's so much fun to share all of this with Maya. Owen spent the rest of the day randomly stopping whatever he was doing to clap and each time Maya would cheer for him.

After getting dressed, Maya came down complaining of a wedgie...I see why!

Finally, here is Maya in her new flippers she got from grandma. She has yet to wear them for swimming, but decided they make her look like Ariel so she wears them around the house.
